Other companies are ripping some people off. I bought my cable from ERAIN. I got the official apple cable for 5O cents on time. It just depends on the seller.

I was looking for an Apple USB cable to work with both my ipod and iphone. I saw these cheap "Apple" cables and decided to buy them. They work fine with ipod but iphone will not recognize the cable and will not connect or charge. These cables are cheap Apple imitations. In this case, you get what you pay for.

When using this cable to connect my iPod to my PC, the PC sometimes recognizes that a USB device has been connected but always fails to recognize that it is an iPod. iTunes does not recognize that an iPod is connected to the computer. This iPod has been used regularly with the PC before using the original cable. Going back to the original cable resolves the problems.

Just a heads up: I ordered this from "dream bargains" and I didn't receive the official "Apple" ipod cable, like the description says. It was a bootleg cable not made by Apple. It seems to work fine, but it you're looking for the "official" Apple cable this isn't it.
