Good Reference Pocketbook July 21, 2005 Leah Jesse (Victoria, B.C., Canada) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I had my iPod for about six months before I picked up this little guide. Although I was an experienced user, I found that this guide filled in the gaps of my knowledge for both the capacities of the iPod and iTunes. The initial bit about buying and using both may be of some help to newbies, but I combed through the rest of the book and found wonderful tips on tweaking the sound of files, obtaining music online not just from the iTunes store, but at other Mac friendly sites, using the iPod as a hard drive and organizer as well as the extras, and help & maintenance chapters. The only problem I had with this book is that a few of the websites cited were dead links and no longer available. Hopefully, the authors will correct that in their upcoming second volume that will be released in October 2005. Other than that, the book is a neat and compact reference that is comprehensive and readable. I would recommend it to newbies and iPod and iTunes aficionados alike.
Very informative without being too wordy December 25, 2004 Jen (Florida) 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
This small book is the best out of several that I have read about getting started with an iPod. It has step by step instructions on how to use several different functions in iTunes, discusses things such as accessories and the differences between the different models. This is the book that I go to when I run into any prblem with my iPod or iTunes, and so far, the answers have always been there.
Small Book, Lots of Information December 16, 2004 R. G. Nixon (Portland, OR USA) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I'm a new iPod owner that found the Apple Tutorial and User's Guide not very well written. I went to my local Borders and compared all of the books they had about iPods and this is the one I purchased. It contains much of the information that is in the larger and more expensive books. It had all the specific information that I really needed regarding Playlists and file management. A good little book for a very reasonable price. Experienced i-Pod users may not find this book useful but I did.
